I like this work because you can see the brush strokes and the fact that it is diptych adds to the depth in the center. It reminds me of waves on an ocean transitioning from beach to the deep abyss in the center. The transition from the deep blue in the middle to the purple color is super mesmerizing. The white on the sides makes these waves feel like they can go on forever. Whenever the work is hanging in the gallery you can see hints of yellow on the sides of the canvas. It's a nice bright pop of color that is not very apparent from a straight-on image.
