Charis Ammon (born 1992, Dallas, TX) paints images she encounters as she moves through her urban landscape, and the scenes she chooses to paint are often defined by flux: construction sites, urban development, and concrete. Ammon has said, "we sculpt the earth and space around us with our hands, machines, and ideas, and in turn, our environment shapes us and our behavior. I recognize myself in this flux." The resultant paintings are fragments of Ammon's lived experience, and they represent a marriage between her urban environment and her own inner mental and emotional landscape.
